교육칼럼 : Graduation 2

Dear graduates:

First of all, I would like to congratulate all of you.  As you complete the given curriculum and leave this heart-felt campus, I believe that there is joy and reluctance crossing in your mind.  The reason for having such mixed feelings is because graduation contains a special meaning.

The feeing of joy may be felt by graduates who have overcome difficult times to enter
their desired schools or working fields. 

The feeling of reluctance may be felt by
graduates who wish that they had done better.

However, I think whether it maybe joy or reluctance, it will be a great help to all of you
who commence a new journey in life. If you are a student with a joyous heart, I hope
you would live with that joy so it would not part from you.  A joyous heart will give you
wisdom to live this life and a door leading to success.

If you are regretful, remember the works of the great German writer, Goethe, who once
said, “the one who has never tasted bread with tears has no right to discuss about life.”
Likewise, I hope you utilize such precious learning as you live your life.

The students who proceed to a higher grade need greater resolution and perseverance. 
I hope you will continue to do your best in your school life so that just like your alumni
you may also see your graduation with a joyful heart.

To those graduates who take their first step into society, I would like to recommend a
life with conscientiousness and integrity.  Even though there is a broader path for you
to walk, I recommend that you take the straight and narrow path to success.

The faster road makes us hasty and gives us self-centered minds.  There might be
fewer people who go on a narrow road, but it is the road God desires for us.

Lastly, I hope you will always remember the love for your parents who have raised you.
I hope that you carry on the blessed life of being a creation of God that pleases Him the
most.  I pray that God’s grace and blessing be with you always.
