잭팟 당첨금이 7,200만 달러까지 치솟아 관심을 모았던 캘리포니아 수퍼 로토 복권 게임에서 당첨 티켓이 나왔다. 당첨 티켓이 나온 곳은 LA 인근 알함브라(Alhambra) 지역에 있는 한 약국에서 나온 곳으로 확인되고 있으나 당첨자가 누구인지는 아직까지 알려지고 있지 않다.
이번 추첨의 당첨 번호는 8, 13, 16, 19, 43번이고 메가 번호는 6번이었다.
앞서 언급한대로 당첨 티켓은 알함브라 지역 밸리 블루버드 선상에 있는 세이본(Savon) 마트 내에 있는 약국에서 구입되어졌으며, 당첨자는 캐시 밸류(일시불)가 아닌 26년 분할지급 방식을 선택한 것으로 확인되었다.
이 당첨자는 첫해에는 180만 달러, 남은 26년간은 매면 360만 달러를 지급받을 수 있으며, 이는 세금을 제하게 되면 잭팟 당첨금의 절반 이상을 거머지게 되는 셈이다. 역대 캘리포니아 수퍼 로토 기록은 1억 9,300만 달러의 잭팟이 터졌던 지난 2002년 2월 16일 추첨이었고, 당첨티켓이 나온 것은 오렌지 카운티 내 오렌지 시에서 나온 바 있다.
개인으로서는 지난 2001년 6월 23일 산 호세 지역에 사는 알카리오 카스텔라노 씨가 1억 4,100만 달러에 달하는 잭팟 당첨금을 거머진 것이 최고 기록으로 남아 있다.
SuperLotto Plus Ticket Sold in Alhambra Worth $72 Million
Someone who bought a SuperLotto Plus ticket at an Alhambra drug store is holding stub worth $72 million today, lottery official announced.
With the jackpot building for weeks on end, just one ticket was sold that matched all six winning numbers drawn last night. They were: 8, 13, 16, 19, 43 and mega-number 6.
The winning ticket was sold at a Osco/Sav-On at 145 E. Valley Blvd.,according to lottery officials.
The buyer of the winning ticket could choose 26 graduated annual payments –
– $1.8 million the first year and $3.6 million the 26th year — before taxes. Should he or she want to cash out immediately, the ticket would be worth roughly half the jackpot.
The largest jackpot in California Lottery history reached $193 million and was won on Feb. 16, 2002, by the holders of three winning tickets, bought in Orange, Half Moon Bay and Montebello.
On June 23, 2001, Alcario Castellano of San Jose became the record-breaking highest individual jackpot winner of $141 million.
